About
In a probably misguided attempt to show that I can effectively use AI tools, I wrote a brief overview of my professional career and then asked ChatGPT to rewrite it in the voice of Academy Award-winning actor Joe Pesci.
All imagery is also AI-generated, apologies in advance to anyone that is about to read this.
The Beginning | 2010
So there’s Ovidio, this kid, fresh outta college with a creative writing degree. What the hell are you gonna do with that, huh? Write Hallmark cards?
Anyway, he’s sittin’ there, scratching his ass, wondering what to do with his life. Then he reads about Kurt Vonnegut on freakin’ Wikipedia like the nerd he is and finds out the guy worked in advertising. So Ovidio goes, “Oh! If it’s good enough for Kurt, it’s good enough for me!” Boom. Decision made.

Splash Media | 2012
First gig? Splash Media, some social media agency in Dallas-Fort Worth. Real fancy, huh?
This guy starts running Facebook and Twitter accounts for brands like Takis, RAM Trucks, and Toni & Guy. And let me tell ya, with hair like his—dark, curly, luscious—working for a haircare brand? It’s destiny, baby!

Golin | 2013
Next up, Golin. He’s a community manager for Texas Instruments and MetroPCS. At Metro, he’s making content about their UFC partnership, hypin’ up Ronda Rousey, who was HUGE back then.
Even got her autograph—what a big shot, right? But then she starts spouting conspiracy crap, and Ovidio’s like, “Yeah, maybe let’s not brag about that anymore.”

Splash Media (Again) | 2014
Then the guy’s back at Splash, managing a whole team of international community managers. He even ran Facebook Australia’s page, learning all about drop bears. What’s that? Some kinda killer koala? Either way, he was killin’ it.

LERMA | 2016
Now we’re talking—the big leagues! He lands at LERMA, a top multicultural ad agency in Dallas. He’s running Super Bowl digital campaigns for Avocados From Mexico. Avocados, people! He’s in the Super Bowl war room, making magic happen.
Toss in Cinemark, MetroPCS (again), and the #BeGolden campaign, and this guy’s crushing it.

GMMB | 2019
Seattle calls, and Ovidio answers. GMMB, a marketing firm for progressive causes and lefty politics.
He’s designing websites, leading social media for Alameda County’s COVID response, and working with international Parkinson’s researchers. Look at this guy—saving the world, one tweet at a time!

DNA | 2021
Back to brands at DNA in downtown Seattle. Now he’s doing brand strategy, running research for the Seattle Sounders’ logo refresh.
The big question? “Do we really need the Space Needle in the logo?” Turns out, yeah, the fans love it. Sorry, budget department.

Edible, Inc. & Mustache | 2022
Finally, he hits Edelman’s agencies—Edible, Inc. and Mustache. He’s working with Taco Bell, LEGO, HP, El Pollo Loco, Perdue Farms and more.
But the real kicker? The Beer Can Chicken Beer campaign. They made beer specifically for shovin’ it up a chicken’s ass. And guess what? It won a freakin’ Gold at the WARC Awards! The French probably loved it ‘cause it reminded them of, “Last Tango in Paris.” You know the scene. Oh!

How’s that for a Pesci twist, huh?
